These Terms are general website text for Brighouse Security Labs / BrighouseSec. Brighouse Security Labs / BrighouseSec is a trading name operated from the United Kingdom. Not currently incorporated as a limited company. Registered office is not applicable unless incorporated. This text should be reviewed before production use.
Services
BrighouseSec provides fixed-scope passive external security checks, written reports and related website consultancy. Work is limited to authorised targets and the scope agreed in writing before the work begins.
The service is not a full penetration test, not a guarantee that a system is secure and not a compliance certification.
Authorised Scope Only
By submitting a request, you confirm that you are authorised to request checks for the submitted website, product, brand, domain or business. You must not submit third-party targets unless you have written permission.
Testing Boundaries
Unless explicitly agreed in a separate written scope, BrighouseSec does not perform exploitation, brute force testing, credential testing, destructive testing or port scanning. Passive external checks focus on externally observable signals.
Reports
Reports are informational and based on externally observable signals at the time of review. Findings may change after delivery as systems, hosting, DNS, email records, dependencies and third-party services change.
Reports should not be represented as formal compliance certification, a full penetration test result or a guarantee that no vulnerabilities exist.
Customer Responsibilities
- Provide accurate scope and contact information.
- Obtain permission before requesting checks for any target.
- Avoid submitting passwords, credentials, secrets, tokens or unnecessary confidential information.
- Review recommendations with appropriate technical judgement before making changes.
- Use reports responsibly and only for lawful internal, client or project purposes.
Payment, Refunds And Cancellation
A payment link or invoice is sent only after scope is agreed. Fees, timing and deliverables should be confirmed in writing before paid work begins.
Refunds and cancellation depend on whether work has started, the amount of work already completed and any written scope terms. Refund and cancellation terms are confirmed in the agreed written scope or invoice before work begins.
Limitation Of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, BrighouseSec is not liable for indirect loss, loss of profit, loss of revenue, loss of business, loss of goodwill or loss caused by systems changing after a review. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited under the law of England and Wales.
Refusal Or Suspension
BrighouseSec may refuse, suspend or stop work if abuse, unauthorised scanning, unsafe use, unlawful activity, misrepresentation or lack of authorisation is suspected.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction unless a mandatory law says otherwise.
